Day 709 - 10th April 2015
Goood afternoon everyone,
Its been pretty much a glorious week, the only fly in the ointment has been the sea mist when it rolls in, the temperature plummets!
I've managed to get a lot sorted in the last few days, new jakets and spare boots from Liscombe, new signs and stickers for the scooter and buckets:
Ive been wanting to get this done for a long while, at least now when I'm out on the road without the trailer people will know there is a reason to me being stupid.
In March I was invited to London by the Royal British Legion for a thank you dinner etc, I politely declined as I was heading to Devon to meet up with family, I'm also not very good at these things! I received an email this morning from the Royal British Legion.
"I also wanted to let you know that our reception event the other week was a lovely evening with many of our 2014 fundraisers attending. As part of the thank you speeches, we were delighted to announce that you were our top Individual Fundraiser for 2014 - congratulations! Our Director of Fundraising made a speech to everyone about your achievement and journey so far, and Fiona from our team collected an award for you on your behalf – see the photo attached!
We are keeping your award safely with us at HQ. Please let us know where you would like us to send this to you?
Many thanks once again for all of your support and congratulations for your achievement so far. Looking forward to hearing more updates from you in due course!"
Not sure I deserve, I do this because I want to and to say thank you to three of the charities for helping me in the past.
Tomorrow I get my nose back to the headstone and meet up with some veterans in Seaton...
