Good evening everyone,
A cold, windy day with some sunshine. I headed out via North Molton a good climb to start the day. The lanes were nice and quiet as normal, well except for a lamb that had put its head through a fence next to a small tree and got it stuck, a bit of pulling at the fence soon had it free and running to Mum.
Crawling the lanes of the beaten track its amazing what you find...
I managed to get a lot of admin done yesterday and got a lot of memorials off to the Imperial War Museum. Their systems should be sorted soon so that I can upload the images directly and cut out having to send them by email, the downside of this is I need an internet connection, at the moment I can do some of it offline.
Tomorrow its off to the edge of Exmoor, an area I love...
A beautiful start this morning, it wasn't to last though, it clouded over and the temperature dropped...
I was proud to find today whilst crawling around Tiverton Cemetery two Victoria Cross graves, Devon has five VC's, only three to go.
I;ve travelled through some wonderful lanes today, I even stumbled upon a place where myself, the ex-wife and Snudge stayed a long while ago and it is the only place I've been when a thunderstorm is all around you, St Elmos Fire I believe its called, the cloud / mist surrounded the hill we were on and made the lightning appear to be a funny colour!
Besides the blast from the past I also get to see some wonderful wildlife.
Orchid (can't remember which)
Red campion and Cow Parsley
Anyway, tonorrow is another day crawling around the wonderfull Devon lanes...
Good afternoon everyone,
A very wet start to the day today and I've managed to get a lot of memorials online. Its an early update as I've got to go to the British Legion and meet a gentleman about the Burma Star Memorial garden in Tiverton, the council want to move it, more on that later/tomorrow.
The weather is meant to be better tomorrow so I can get out and about again, I forgot to mention I did find the memorial, more about it at the link below.
two days update in one tonight;
Yesterday started grey, drizzly and generally miserable, it made it hard to get going and be enthusiastic...
I went out and did the necessary bits and bobs with the graves and mermorials, I was glad to get back to Tesco and the cats. I had an email from my Mother later with the photo of the award I won from the The British Legion, thank you Mum.
A nice end to a not brilliant day.
Today was another grey start, though a lot warmer. I headed out and had to cover a lot of ground again, the day improved as it went on finally getting to nineteen centigrade, made it so much better.
I had to meet an ex Royal Engineer in a local pub, any excuse, anyway they had a small machine that kids and big kids can use to win prizes, cost a fiver, will give the people who donate something to do for their donation if that makes sense...
Tomorrw I'm collecting all day in Tesco Cullompton, its off to Tiverton Tesco after that...
Good morning everyone,
I realised on my way to Tesco that I hadn't done the statistics for April, so here goes...

I've spent the last few days making the most of a good internet connection in Tesco and have been sending images and data to the Imperial War Museum, it will be the same for today and tomorrow. I've been invited to the local British Legion meeting tonight, a quick chat and a couple of pints after...
Good afternoon every one,
A hard day on the legs today, hopefully a good day for pennies in the bucket. It started wonderfully this morning, clear skies, warm sunshine, now its grey and cold.
I obtained a new mascot today, a British Legion teddy bear, just need a QDG one now to finish the collection off :)
I just been given the chance to collect at Tesco on Saturday, it will give me chance to recover from the night before at the VE diner. It will then be off to Cullompton and Tiverton after that.
Updates will be thin on the ground this week as I'm going to make the most of some internet and update as many of the graves and memorials as I can.
