Good morning everyone,
This the second attempt at writing this up!
An interesting few days in Bridgwater (I keep wanting to add an E to it!) with a lot of interesting people. It is also the weekend of the Bridgwater Fair bringing in even more people. One thing I found was a taste of home, a Welsh Cake stand, I couldn't resist having one!
One of the things that has surprised me is the amount of Military graves here, three cemeteries with about a hundred between them and I think the youngest one I think I have found so far, 17 years old.
I decided to take the cats out one at time yesterday, Missy first, being the most gregarious and the least likely to be spooked we headed for the fair, she was on my lap as we crawled, it was the only way with the crowds! Her tail was in the air, nose twitching as we passed the food stalls. People were amazed to see her, nothing new there, there's nothing new in kids saying “there's a cat!” and parents dismissing it as if they are hallucinating, makes me chuckle. Missy was totally underwhelmed by the fair and was far more interested when we headed through town towards Pets at Home, I wanted to get a new harness, toy and high visibility flexi-leads, Missy spotted the pigeons, I've got puncture marks in my legs from where she tried launching herself at them! Just glad I was hanging on to her, it could have been carnage! Again people couldn't believe their eyes, I even had one lady run after me to double check!
We eventually got the bits I needed, well other than the leads, they were £16 each and I thought a bit pricey! I'll have a look online and see if I can get them any cheaper.
Once back at the trailer I headed out with Smudge to get some lunch, I wasn't going to the fair with him, I knew he wouldn't like it, again as I headed through there were strange looks ;)
Last night I was spoilt rotten by Colin and Louise, we enjoyed the rugby, well for the most part, I was a thorn between all the roses ;)
I woke this morning to a cold, misty start, headed to Sainsbury's for breakfast and a couple of odds and sods for me and the cats. Once back I sorted out my clean cloths and headed to the Leisure centre for a shower, there's not much in life I need but a proper disabled is one of them, on asking at the leisure centre I was told “we don't do/sell showers”, a first in Great Britain, well for me anyway and I've been to a hell of a lot. I could have paid for a swimming session and then had a shower, double the price and I have no swimming kit with me, hopefully find one somewhere in the next couple of days...
Its that time of year when the fungi really kicks off and is popping up everywhere, cemeteries and graveyards can be good spots for them as the soil for the most part never been improved by fertilisers so some of the scarcer and prettier species thrive such as the Waxcaps, if I find any in the future I'll try and get a photo.
I'm hoping to move to Burnham-on-Sea Tuesday and will be stopping at Tesco, weather permitting that is...
