Good afternoon everyone,
This my second time of writing update as the first one disappeared into thin air!
Well it's been very hot of the last two days, 32° in the shade yesterday and today and I believe it's going to to get hotter by the end of the week. Missy stretched out in front of the trailer trying to keep cool.
I need to say a big thank you to Tesco Quedgeley for looking after myself and Missy, they even put a fan in the trailer to help Missy stay a bit cooler, they also treated me to two new SD cards, that should keep me going for the next six months so.
I've moved on to Gloucester Tesco staff have lent me a fan for Missy again, not sure how long I'll be here and I'm in a bit of a quandary as to whether to go to Tewkesbury or Cheltenham next.
I'm struggling a bit with the accessibility around Gloucester, the city centre and the quays are fine, move away from their and I encounter bollards and lampposts in the middle of the path that you can't get past, A frames in gaps in walls that cyclists can get through but I can't, it gets very frustrating at times!
Gloucester is also very under recorded for memorials, I started with 19 on the system, two have been lost, and I have found 58 so far and I've only scratched the surface Gloucester so far.
Well I'm moving to Tesco in Quedgley tomorrow and have to check on a tip off of a cross on the way. Whilst I've been wasting time and money in South Wales thanks to Capita I've been messing about being nerdish with figures and statistics...
Whilst out the other day I found a memorial that won't last much longer without some serious help.
Another one that I found that I need to find check is the Bulford Kiwi http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-wiltshire-40260829
Good evening everyone,
Today was a long hard productive day, even with factor fifty sun lotion I still look like a lobster!
I took 115 pictures today, 17 were of graves, that means the rest are War Memorials! The next two days are going to be non productive in the way of graves and memorials, myself and Missy of to Swansea for a medical, I can't leave her behind as my brother who would look after her works long hours, I can't remember what the medical is for but it could be the first that a cat has gone to ;)
Wednesday I head to Quedgely, I need to go via Whitminster as I've had a tip off for an unrecoreded memorial, hopefully more then
Good evening everyone,
A quiet few days, I've moved from Old Sodbury to Tockington, it was a very wet morning to say the least!
I've pottered around the area of Old Sodbury trying to get in church's, for the most part successfully, did come across some that had been recorded as memorials but were actually graves, we record the immortal not the mortal remains
I've had a couple of tip offs about memorials but couldn't get an answer from any of the phone numbers put up in the church, I've passed the info on to London for someone else to go out and check.
Another interesting one from today when I phoned the churchwarden today, "what's it got to do with the Imperial War Museum?" First time I've had this. The Imperial War Museum War Memorial Register is the national archive
I'm hoping to hear from my brother tonight that he has found a cat box for Monday, need to take Missy back with me whilst I have the medical.
Well it was a day off yesterday, well nearly, I did photograph two memorials as I headed out to find a shower. The heavens opened in the afternoon and only for the second time I had to deploy the rain sheet at the front of the trailer to keep me dry. Between the showers it was nice litening to the Lesser Whitethroat singing in the hedge up the hill.
Today is an enforced day off, not that it stopped me going out for breakfast and doing a bit of detective work, I'm still drying out an hour later! We are both sitting in the pub, Missy curled up on the chair and I've got a mug of hot tea, its going to be an admin afternoon...
Well it's been three days since I last touched the laptop and rather strange yesterday to be travelling in a car again! It's been a good couple of days meeting up with Neil Berryman again see him again in just over a week's time as he's picking up and take me back to Swansea for a medical. I'm hoping to be to leave the scooter trailer and Missy for one night with my brother near Gloucester. Missy has already been up the trees in the orchard again!
It was an interesting run from Malmesbury to old Sodbury (the old sod is back in all Sodbury) for no reason at all halfway through the morning I felt anxious and panicky, it passed after about 10 minutes, really no idea why. On getting to Acton Turville I found the road had been closed for resurfacing with diversions in place, I didn't have the power to use the diversion and ended up being escorted all the way along the road which is great, it also meant no traffic :-)
Wi-Fi is pretty good here so I get some of the images uploaded that taken over the last few days and an interesting one was as we were driving near Royal Wotton Bassett with past a cross at the side of the road being nerdish I got my tablet out and my phone to see if it was recorded, it wasn't, I ended up phoning London so that they could get someone out to check it the photograph it for the records.
One of the nice things from today and travelling the lanes was the birdlife, a lot of yellowhammers and a few corn buntings which we don't get in Wales, and I've yet to see any fox cubs or brown hares but you never know they might just pop up.

Only a short one, a newspaper article
Good afternoon everyone,
Well I apparently missed an amazing light show at four o'clock this morning, all I heard was a distant rumble...
I've about finished the Tetbury area and will be moving on to Old Sodbury on Tuesday. Tetbury has a wool sack race every year on bank holiday Monday and I have been given permission to collect in the United Services Club, hopefully there will be a lot of generous people around.
Whilst travelling around this morning I've been trying to find somewhere with a disabled shower, not a hope, looks like it will be a teenagers shower until I get to Old Sodbury.
Good morning everyone,
Well yesterday's events shocked and upset everyone, my thoughts are with everyone involved.
Yesterday morning we had a visit from the local paper photographer, Missy certainly didn't behave whilst having her photo taken, will have to wait and see if he managed to get a shot of her. The paper is doing the interview at lunchtime today.
Missy has been well and truly spoilt over the last few days by the ladies on the Deli counter at Tesco Cirencester with bits of meat. One of the staff also brought a few new toys in last night, one them has driven her mad!
I had a potter in a small country park across the road from Tesco looking for any wildlife, not much around although it looks like the Mayfly are starting to hatch...
Tomorrow I head for Tetbury to cover the graves and memorials in that area, it's a Bank Holiday weekend which may cause a bit of a delay.
Good afternoon everyone,
Well I've been at Tedworth House now for a week, had four counselling sessions ans two massages and am starting to feel a bit better. I have one more session tomorrow and then it is of to Marlborough. From the sessions with the therapist I've learnt some things about PTSD, I have been told to take things a bit easier and do things for myself. I am also to spend more time doing what I enjoy, watching and photographing wildlife.
I had to go to Amesbury yesterday to get some paint brushes to paint a patch on the trailer, as I got to Bulford a car in front of me hit a cat, luckily the driver had seen it and had virtually stopped when it made contact, the cat was bowled over then ran into the hedge, myself and the people in the car tracked the owner and the cat down, it appeared fine thank goodness.
Today I went for a bimble across Salisbury Plain, I headed down to Nine Mile River to see if there was any wildlife around, the river was dried up and there was very little bird life around, a few Orange Tip, Speckled Wood and Brimstone butterflies, that was about it.
Good morning everyone,
Well I spent the weekend on Salisbury Caravan site, Missy loved all the attention from everyone especially the kids. I enjoyed the shower and getting the washing done :)
The weather for the most part has been pretty good, especially Sunday evening. Sunday was also a day for treating the pair of us, we went out and had a steak dinner thanks to Tesco Clubcard.
One thing that made me smile yesterday and not for the first time was a lady stopped me and told me that she thought I was a small council road sweeper...
Well I'm at Tedworth House and getting help with the mental health problems I have been facing, had the first session yesterday, I have another this morning and will have to wait and see where I go from there. Another treat last night was an Indian Head massage, first time ever and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I popped out this morning to find two war graves in the Garrison church cemetery, I thought I was going daft, I couldn'tfind it at all, I suspect that it has been built on. On a plus side Tidworth is finally getting a War Memorial, it will be unveiled and dedicated on June 24th, that means I will have to come back and photograph it ;)
